Travel cover for keyboard surface

A protective and ergonomic cover designed to preserve the tactile feel and durability of a portable Microsoft wireless keyboard during travel and intensive use.

As a frequent traveler and digital nomad, I relied heavily on a portable Microsoft wireless keyboard. Over time, I noticed that the keys—arguably the most critical element of the device—were degrading due to transport conditions and intensive usage.

Rather than accepting this wear as inevitable, I decided to design a solution. Using my experience in 3D design, I developed a protective cover that shields the keys while preserving what truly matters: tactile feedback and typing comfort.

“Protecting the keys wasn’t enough — the feel of typing had to remain intact.”

Every contour and surface was carefully studied to ensure ergonomic comfort and long-term durability. The result is a cover that not only protects but also enhances the user experience, extending the lifespan of the keyboard’s most essential characteristic.

From the beginning, the design was optimized for at-home 3D printing, making it accessible to individual users, while also being compatible with injection molding for large-scale manufacturing.

After more than a year of testing and refinement, the design has proven to be practical, durable, and well received. The product is protected by registered designs and is ready to be explored commercially.

I’m open to collaboration and commercial exploration of this product. If you’re interested in discussing manufacturing, distribution, or further development, feel free to get in touch.
