El tio Perrica- Libro-

I am excited to introduce my latest project, which involves the re-edition of an old book published in 1974 by my great-uncle. The book showcases the life and customs of Igueña, a village located in the mountains of El Bierzo, Leon.

As a representative of my family, I coordinated with the local government to re-edit the book and make it available for purchase, with the profits being allocated towards improving and attracting people to the valley. This project not only honors my great-uncle’s work but also promotes the local economy.

One of the benefits of the digital platform I created is the ability for visitors to view 360-degree photos of the area from the comfort of their own homes, which can help attract more visitors to the village. Additionally, the platform features GPS-guided routes both online and on physical signage, making it easier for visitors to explore the area and learn about its unique culture and heritage.

I am thrilled to be a part of this project, which not only honors my great-uncle’s work but also promotes the rich cultural heritage of the region. I hope that this project will encourage people to explore Igueña and appreciate the unique beauty and customs of this mountain village, while contributing to the local economy and helping preserve its cultural heritage.

In addition to the digital platform, I’m proud to say that our project has also helped recover some of the historical paths and trails that are mentioned in the book. These paths were once lost, but we were able to locate and recover them, thanks to my analysis of current and historical maps, as well as LIDAR data. With the help of the local hiking club, El Aguzo, we were able to locate the original trail described in the book and register it using GPS technology.

I’m happy to say that these recovered paths can now be used by visitors to explore the valley and experience its beauty firsthand. By combining modern technology with traditional knowledge, we were able to recover a valuable piece of the area’s history and make it accessible to all.

In summary, this project has not only helped re-publish an important book but has also contributed to the preservation of the local culture and history. Through the creation of a digital platform and the recovery of historical paths, we hope to attract more visitors to Igueña and promote the area’s unique beauty and customs.
