COVID protective screen for hospitals

During the COVID pandemic, when protective gear for healthcare workers was scarce, I took it upon myself to create a solution. I designed a face shield that could be easily assembled using a pattern cutting machine to cut transparent and plastic materials. This protective screen was specifically designed to shield against splashes, though it was not a mask.

In an effort to help as many people as possible, I openly published the design so that anyone could access and use it. My goal was to contribute to the fight against COVID and support healthcare workers during this challenging time.

I developed two versions of the design to accommodate different pattern cutting machines. I wanted to make the project accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of the equipment they had available.

By offering these two versions of the face shield design, I hope to reach a wider audience and provide a valuable resource for healthcare workers and others in need of protective gear during these challenging times.

Design for A4 patron

This version of the design is intended for those with a pattern cutting machine capable of handling up to A2-sized materials. This allows the face shield to be cut as a single piece, simplifying the assembly process.

One-piece pattern design

This version of the design caters to those with a pattern cutting machine that can only accommodate a maximum cutting size of A4. Although this version requires additional assembly, I ensured that the process is straightforward and user-friendly.
